HISTORY
The firm was founded in 1979 by Supreme Court Attorney, Sigurmar Kristján Albertsson and Skúli Eggert Sigurz. In 1990 the firm started to operate under the brand name LAGASTOÐ.
In 2010 Gizur Bergsteinsson, Guðmundur Óli Björgvinsson, Halldór Helgi Backman, and Kristinn Bjarnason joined the firm. Subsequently, Dagmar Sigurðardóttir, Elva Ósk Wiium, Guðbjarni Eggertsson, Magnús Baldursson, Marteinn Másson, Ólafur Kjartansson, Pétur Örn Sverrisson, and Sveinbjörg Birna Sveinbjörnsdóttir have joined the firm.
ORGANISATION
Currently, LAGASTOÐ has 11 partners. The firm’s managing partner is Gizur Bergsteinsson and the chairman of its board of directors Sveinbjörg Birna Sveinbjörnsdóttir.
