Kristinn’s practice focuses on banking and finance, corporate and commercial law, property and real estate law, as well as restructuring and insolvency. He is widely regarded as one of Iceland’s foremost experts in insolvency and restructuring, having been appointed liquidator in many of the country’s largest insolvencies, including Landsbanki Íslands hf. (LBI hf.). The winding-up of LBI hf. was among the most complex multi-jurisdictional insolvencies in Iceland’s history, with estimated assets of approximately USD 14 billion and liabilities of around USD 30 billion.

A highly experienced litigator, Kristinn has pleaded more than 400 civil and criminal cases before the Icelandic courts, including approximately 200 cases before the Supreme Court. His extensive courtroom experience and analytical approach make him a trusted advisor for clients facing the choice between settlement and litigation in high-stakes disputes.

Kristinn has also been called to serve as an ad hoc judge before both the Appeal Court and the Supreme Court of Iceland.
