ATTORNEY AT LAW – PARTNER

Magnús earned his law degree from University of Iceland in 1989. Prior to joining LAGASTOÐ he was Managing Director of the Association of Consulting Engineers as well as the Association of Independent Architects where he provided advice to the associations’ members on a wide range of legal issues. Magnús has extensive experience across a broad range of dispute resolution processes, sectors, and industries. He was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court in 2010 and joined LAGASTOÐ in 2020.

Magnús’ main areas of practice are corporate and commercial law, employment and labour law, public procurement, and regulatory and administrative law. Magnús is frequently called upon by government bodies to advise on regulatory issues, including the impact of EEA Law on Icelandic rules and regulations.

In terms of employment and labour law, his expertise includes collective bargaining agreements, employee benefits and executive compensation, severance claims, and dismissals.
