ATTORNEY AT LAW – PARTNER

Marteinn earned his law degree from University of Iceland in 1986. He was Managing Director of the Icelandic Bar Association from 1990 until 1999 and has since then established himself as a leading expert in the field of construction and engineering contracts. Marteinn was admitted to practice before the Supreme Court in 2006 and joined LAGASTOÐ in 2020.

Marteinn has extensive experience across a broad range of dispute resolution processes, sectors, and industries. His main areas of practice are contract law, property law, planning law, and restructuring and insolvency law. Marteinn regularly advises contractors, subcontractors, and employers in relation to disputes concerning issues such as defective works, final accounts, and extension of time
