ATTORNEY AT LAW
Sveinbjörg leads our tax team. She acquired her experience as a tax lawyer with Deloitte Iceland and Ernst & Young Iceland where she worked with chartered accountants and provided advice to local and international clients. Prior to joining LAGASTOÐ, Sveinbjörg was elected Deputy Member of Alþingi, the Icelandic Parliament, and subsequently Councillor at Reykjavík City.
Sveinbjörg’s main areas of practice are banking and finance, corporate and commercial law, private equity, real estate, and tax. She has extensive M&A experience, including managing due diligence, and frequently advises on lending agreements, debt issuance etc. In recent years, Sveinbjörg has advised clients on financing, acquisition and development of both commercial and residential property. Her particular focus is on commercial investment and property finance.
Sveinbjörg is renowned for her commercially driven approach towards her clients’ affairs. She has vast experience advising international clients, where she is assisted by her English, French, and German language skills.
